Charity

Each year WiTR+ members are invited to nominate a charity for which we all commit to raising funds. The charity is chosen by a vote of WiTR+ members.
Since 2013, WiTR+ has raised over €300,000 for charities focusing on improving the lives of women and children.

Women in Travel Retail+ announces Morgan’s Army as Official Charity Partner for 2026

Women in Travel Retail+ (WiTR+) has announced Morgan’s Army Charitable Foundation as its official charity partner for 2026.

Based in Wales, the charity was founded by Natalie and Matthew Ridler following the cancer diagnosis and subsequent death of their son Morgan, aged just three. Today, Morgan’s Army supports families across South Wales affected by childhood cancer, with a particular focus on the often-overlooked siblings of young cancer patients.

In 2026, WiTR+ will seek to raise €15,000 to fund a structured monthly and bi-monthly sibling support programme, benefitting nearly 500 children whose brother or sister is undergoing cancer treatment. The programme will provide safe spaces, dedicated time and carefully designed activities that allow siblings to explore their emotions, build confidence, connect with peers who understand their experience, and feel seen during an exceptionally challenging period in their family lives.

These children are frequently referred to as the “forgotten siblings” – not due to a lack of parental care, but because serious illness demands extraordinary levels of time, attention and emotional energy. The charity aims to address this gap through early, compassionate and sustained intervention.

Morgan’s Army was nominated by Irene Revilla, Publisher at The Moodie Davitt Report, in a joint proposal with the title’s COO, Sinead Moodie.

Due both to its admirable emphasis on supporting the siblings of child cancer patients and to its South Wales base (not far from where Sinéad Moodie lives), Morgan’s Army carries particular resonance for both The Moodie Davitt Report and the Moodie/Miller family in the current circumstances with Sinéad’s health. As many in the industry will know, Sinead has been diagnosed with Stage 4 NUT Carcinoma Lung Cancer, an ultra-rare, very aggressive variant of the disease. A lifelong non-smoker and mother of two young children aged five and two, she is currently undergoing treatment at The Royal Marsden Hospital in London, supported by her husband Adrian.

While often overlooked, sibling support is critical. These children are living alongside trauma, uncertainty and fear at a formative stage of their lives. Providing early, compassionate and structured support can make a lasting difference – not only to the sibling, but to the long-term wellbeing of the whole family. With WiTR+’s support, Morgan’s Army can step up its wonderful work to ensure that siblings do not feel invisible during their family’s cancer journey.

Irene Revilla, Publisher at The Moodie Davitt Report

From the moment Morgan’s Army was put forward, it was clear that this was a charity whose mission aligns powerfully with WiTR+’s values. Supporting siblings who are so often overlooked during a child’s cancer journey is both deeply compassionate and urgently needed.

This is a charity doing vital work with care, humility and purpose. Supporting Morgan’s Army allows our community to help ensure that siblings feel seen, supported and less alone during an unimaginably difficult time. We are incredibly proud to stand behind their work in 2026.

Sarah Branquinho, Chair – WiTR+

The scale of the programme is made possible by the dedication of numerous individuals and specialist agencies who work with Morgan’s Army on a quasi pro bono basis, maximising the impact of every euro raised.

WiTR+ now calls on its global membership – and the wider travel retail community – to join Irene Revilla and Sinéad Moodie in supporting a small charity with a truly big heart.

“Joining Women in Travel Retail has been without any doubt a very rewarding decision. This community has offered more than just networking opportunities— It has connected me with an incredible community of women—from emerging talent to senior leaders—across brands, retailers, and regions. What makes this network especially meaningful is the unique space it creates for women in a fast-paced, often male-dominated industry. It offers a rare sense of support, openness, and shared ambition—where collaboration thrives and new perspectives are welcomed.

Through Women in Travel Retail, I’ve been introduced to emerging brands, deepened my industry knowledge, and built lasting connections. Most importantly, I’ve seen how a strong, supportive community can drive real change. The more we grow, the greater our collective impact—and together, we’re not just expanding opportunities, we’re shaping the future of travel retail for women everywhere and how cool is that!”
